BEGINNERS FAQ's

  • I'm a complete beginner. How do I know which class to attend?

    • If you are brand new to yoga, we recommend you start with a Gentle Flow, Pilates, Yin or Restorative class. Our Gentle Flow classes are aimed at beginners and those wanting to ground themselves in practice. This class involves demonstrations and explanations to build your confidence, awareness and alignment. Mandala Flow and Empower Claases are faster stronger sessions with less instruction, so they might feel a bit overwhelming on your first go.

    •

  • I've been recommended yoga, but I don't really know what it is. Why should I come to yoga?

    •

    •

  •

  • Which package is best for me?

    • We offer a trial membership for £25. This way you can try all the classes in the studio and all our fab teachers. At the end of the two weeks, your membership will auto-enroll into a membership or class pack of your choosing.  Otherwise, a single drop-in class is £12. If you plan on practising three or more times per week, we highly recommend signing up for one of our unlimited memberships. Check our all our options here.

  •

  • What can I expect from a studio class?

    • Please book in advance here

    • Arrive 15 minutes or so before class and walk up to the first floor.

    • Come on in!

    • Once in the studio, you will see an area to store your shoes and coats. You can leave bags or personal items in the cubbies in the studio. Grab your props. The teacher will let you know anything else you might need!

    • If you need a mat, you can borrow one (and all other props) for free.

    • Enjoy!

  •

  • Do I need to be fit or flexible to join class?

    • NOPE!

  • Are there religious connections with your studio and classes

    • We believe this practice can potentially connect you to your existing beliefs. However, we do not bring any religion to our classes.

  • What do I bring with me?

    • Just your fine self in comfortable clothing. We have mats and props to borrow free of charge. You might want a water bottle and sweat towel for hot yoga and hot pilates classes.

  • What should I wear to class?

    • Loose or stretchy clothing are just fine. Whatever you would wear to go to the gym or for a run is fine. Please note we practice yoga in bare feet.

  • What should I expect when arriving at the studio?

    • Your teacher will greet you in the studio so please try and arrive 10-15 mins early for your first session. Come straight up to the first floor. Once you sign at reception, you will enter the studio and see individual bays with props and storage for your belongings. Please turn your phone off.

  • What can I expect to happen during class?

    • Be prepared to get present in your body and with those around you. Go with the flow! Savasana (the last part of the class) is important. Please stay for this pose. It helps decrease your stress levels from day to day and relaxes the body. If you cannot stay for the entire class, please let the teacher know beforehand so they can help you leave quietly.

  • What happens after class?

    • Make sure you wipe down your mat and the area around your mat. It helps ensure that you and all of your yogi friends stay safe and comfortable in class. We also have tea and snacks in the studio if you would like to stay for a few minutes after class.
